We are looking for someone who is driven and unpretentious with a strong interest in elderly care and who wants to help develop our operations to new levels.

As an activation pedagogue, you are the engine for creating a meaningful everyday life based on a salutogenic approach, where the focus is on health factors and well-being.

The meeting point consists of a working group of activation pedagogues who are responsible for planning and executing activities in elderly care homes in Kungälv Municipality. Our operations have a health-promoting and preventive focus and are constantly aiming to develop our services based on the needs and wishes of the elderly. Collaboration takes place with activity representatives who are present at each care home. Right now, we are looking for you who want to make a difference.

Responsibilities

With us, you will be offered an exciting and developing assignment as an activation pedagogue within elderly care homes. No two days are alike. The main task is to be responsible for the activities of the elderly home and to ensure that the range of activities offered is well adapted to the needs and wishes of the residents. The guiding principle is a salutogenic and rehabilitative approach where the individual's abilities are utilized and the healthy aspects are highlighted. Our operations are in constant development and change based on the needs of the elderly.

The working hours are mainly scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM but may sometimes vary depending on planned activities. Flexible agreements apply.

Your tasks include:

• Jointly plan and implement a comparable range of activities and events at the municipality's elderly care homes together with your team.
• Having overall responsibility for the range of activities at the elderly care home and finding out what activities the residents wish for based on their interests.
• Coordinating activities at elderly care homes both in groups and individually.
• Supporting and collaborating with the activity representatives at the elderly care homes in their planning and work.
• Actively marketing the activities.
• Ensuring that the common areas in the home are inviting and reflect the seasons.
• Building good relationships and collaborating with various actors such as associations, volunteers, artists, home care services, and other operations in the municipality.
• Evaluating activities together with the residents, documenting, and keeping statistics on the activities.

Your assignment may also include applying for, leading, coordinating, and reporting project funds in the future.

Qualifications

The personal qualities we are looking for are that you are unpretentious and reflective in your working methods. You possess good communication and collaboration skills and have good physical fitness as the work can be physically demanding at times.

You structure your work and drive processes in groups, but also independently. You are flexible, creative, and have a pedagogical approach. You are an initiative-taking person who sees the whole picture of the operations and you are a good team player who actively invites others to collaborate. You take great responsibility in your profession and show judgment and respect. We also see that you have the ability to contribute to a positive and good climate in the workplace.

We expect you to have good knowledge of documentation and guidance and to be comfortable using a computer as a working tool. Your ability to express yourself in speech and writing is good.

Requirements:

• Educated activation pedagogue (YH/Vocational School) or equivalent as assessed by the employer.
• Driver's license.

Meritorious:

• Previous experience as an activation pedagogue/activity coordinator and having been involved in planning and developing methods around activities.
• Experience in elderly care.
• Good knowledge of dementia.
• Previous experience in project management.
• Previous experience in handling government funds.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
